Umno yang uno. Alahai...

I am so grateful with the IT technology especially with the inventions of internet and facebook (fb). My lap top and my facebook is a 'daily must' - it's like the air that I breathe, it's like my favourite cuppa coz I can savor the aroma and it is also like magical window where it gives me the chance to interacts with others.
Recently, I had this interesting conversation with an old friend (of course through fb) and it was quite a stimulating one. This good friend of mine is now working for an "Ahli Yang Berhormat". Which member of Parliament? Well, I'm not telling. It's your job to find out. Back then when we were still journalists, we used to cover the same assignment when we were working in the Place in Jalan Riong, Bangsar...
OK back to my conversation. So, this friend of mine was moaning and complaining how frustrated he/she is (not telling the gender too) looking at Umno (United Malay National Organisation) current situations. With crazy things going on...starting with a very weak leadership; ahli Umno lompat parti; no more united among the party members, money politics ...on and on and on. Tapi pada saya apapun he/she said about that Parti Keramat, they were all such an understatement.
What's new anyway about this Umno the so call Parti Keramat? This political party has been there for such a long time. Longer than Malaysia as a nation itself? Started with arwah Dato' Onn Jaafar, then arwah Tunku Abdul Rahman, arwah Tun Razak, arwah Tun Hussain, Tun Dr Mahathir and now....the present Umno Presiden a.k.a present Yang Amat Berhormat Perdana Menteri.
So, in any civilisations and history...people come and go. So, the same thing also could happen to Umno. They were there once, they are still here today but it is not impossible if they would just dissepear tommorow? Let's face it, Umno is not something like sacred Al Quran Al Karim. It is just a political party and of course it is a political tools. It is just a medium for a group of people using democracy to gain power and to form a government through general elections.
Nothing special about this Parti Keramat. To make sure Umno is not obsolete in the near future, the party members themselves must do the rebranding to the party - not through Puteri nor Putera Umno but from all aspects of hierchy, mentalities and values in that party itself.
Like
the Islamic Sociologist Scholar, Ibnu Khaldun said on his Cyclical Theory - Human Civilisation develop an expand when it reach it's peak, at that time the development of human civilisation are said to be completed.
Tun Mahathir wrote in his book The Challenge, dipetik sebagai berkata, "The rise and fall of a any civilisation depends largely on the values own by its inhabitants,".
Nampak mudah dan enteng...but this is something really serious dan berbaloi untuk difikirkan bersama. Bercakap mengenai nilai yang baik ...contohnya seperti sikap rajin, jujur dan amanah. Mengapa dalam Umno nilai baik seperti rajin, jujur dan amanah akan sentiasa diperolok-olokkan?
Kebanyakan ...I repeat...kebanyakan orang Umno tidak tahu menghormati nilai berkenaan. Justeru itu, tamadun yang ada dalam Parti Keramat berkenaan kini mengalami terlalu-lalu banyak masalah dan konflik.
Sepatah kata Dutch Scholar on International Law, Hugo Grotius,
"Leaders come and go, but the State are imortal,". Should I say more? Alahai....

About Me

My photo
I have so many interests. I love reading, I love compiling old Malay recipes and experimenting them through cooking. I adore my baby and I love spending time with my other half despite I see him everyday. I love humming because I strongly believe it is good for my soul. I feel so complete when I gave birth to my baby boy. I am blessed and so fortunate to be given a chance to be a mother, a daughter, a wife and a sister to somebody. Despite losing my individual identity when I agreed to say 'I do', Never in seconds ever I doubt, begrudged or regrets having all that. Will always love my mum and my dad till I die.
